Road Safety in the Caribbean

On Thursday, March 25th, 2021 at 11am AST you are invited to cover a webinar hosted by The Transport Division of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), in partnership with the Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Works and Transport entitled Road Safety in the Caribbean: A Safe System Approach to Saving Lives.

This webinar is the second session of a 5-part webinar series on Road Safety in the Caribbean. Session 2 will focus on Safe Roads and Mobility. As the first Decade of Action for Road Safety draws to a close and governments around the world make a renewed commitment to a Second Decade of Action (2021 – 2030), it is a good time to reflect on the state of road safety in the Caribbean region and identify tangible actions to scale up implementation of the Safe System approach to reduce the impact of road traffic crashes on individuals and economies in the Caribbean. This dialogue will be an opportunity to gather key stakeholders from the Caribbean for a dynamic exchange on the role of infrastructure in creating safer mobility in the region.

Each segment of this virtual webinar series will open with a brief presentation from a regional or international expert and be followed by a panel discussion among practitioners in the region. Highlights of the webinar include remarks from the Minister of Works and Transport, Government of Trinidad and Tobago, Rohan Sinanan and Transportation, Country Representative of IDB Trinidad and Tobago, Rocio Medina-Bolivar and interventions from distinguished panelists.

The webinar will be held via the zoom platform and members of the media are invited to register to attend the session here.
