I am pleased to inform you that we are organizing a  launch event for  the Network of Regulators for Sustainable Development (REDES) titled  “Climate risks and sustainability: A Latin American and Caribbean Perspective”. The event will be held virtually on May 19th, 2021.

REDES is the IDB initiative to support financial supervisors and regulators in Latin America and the Caribbean, in collaboration with ASBA (Association of Banking Supervisors of the Americas), and with the participation of NGFS (Network of Central Banks and Supervisors for Greening the Financial System) and IOSCO (International Organization of Securities Commissions).

The purpose of REDES is to consolidate a regional forum to identify common challenges and to facilitate the coordination of policies and initiatives for the development of sustainable finance and strategies for mitigating environmental, social and climate-related risks in the financial sector. REDES lines of action are deployed through regional and intersectoral dialogues, technical assistance, and capacity-building activities.
